The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time. The job environment is stable, based on known relationships with people and well-defined processes. Job knowledge and competency is built through structured step-by-step training and positive, support from management and peers. Communication with others is based on knowledge of job routines and procedures gained from sufficient on the job experience. Consistent, error free work based on defined processes and standards are key measures of job performance success. The job environment promotes steady, methodical work output so that job routines can be completed on time and error-free. This position is designed to develop a valued technical expert, who, recognized and supported by management and a stable work environment, can deliver quality work on a consistent basis.

We love to help people learn and grow. But we don’t have the time for that right now. We need a paralegal who can hit the ground running but also embrace our values. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand holding.
We have multiple paralegals on our team who are not assigned to a particular attorney but instead work within one or two niche practice areas such as probate, estate planning, litigation, trust administration, or evictions. This facilitates deep expertise which results in systems and processes to make work easier, more efficient and reduce errors.
Responsibilities
What our paralegals do:
- Drafting court documents: pleadings, petitions, objections, motions, ex parte applications, discovery, interrogatories, responses, subpoenas, mediation briefs, pre-trial motions, trial binders, etc.
- Drafting trust and estate documents: wills, trusts, health care directives, powers of attorney, deeds, affidavits, notices to beneficiaries. correspondence, trustee reports, requests for appraisal, etc.
- Drafting corporate and LLC documents: articles, bylaws, share certificates, stock purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, etc.
- Drafting correspondence between attorney and client or opposing counsel.
- E-filing and service of court documents.
- E-recording of deeds and affidavits, filing with County Assessors.
- E-filing corporate documents with the Secretary of State, Department of Business Oversight.
What our paralegals do not do:
- Phone reception
- New client intake
- Scanning and uploading of incoming hard copy court documents, correspondence, or client documents
- Assembly and sending of outgoing hard copy court documents or correspondence

Education and/or Experience
- B.A. degree with major in business, marketing, advertising, or communications preferred, but overall, a strong track record with or without a degree is essential.
- Experience with Windows Operating System, Office 365, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Keap/Infusionsoft and/or Zoho, is preferred but not required.
